Rainy morning-to walk or not to walk-what would ANZACS done? Get lift 1/2 way up mountain and get hopelessly lost-discover Sherpa has drunk the alcohol out of the compass and keeps looking North continually-she is forced to walk backwards when heading South. Roman roads but then steep uphill-Sherpa is molested by long horned cow. Accommodation is in monastery(Poussada)-condition of staying is taking vows of celibacy and silence-Sherpa finds these rigours come natural-I go to local barber and get a tonsure. Very basic accommodation in monk's cell-immerse ourselves in baptismal pool-frugal dinner(see photos).
